A Spicejet airplane from Chennai with 68 travelers on load up slid off the runway while arriving at the Calicut International Airport in adjacent Karipur today, air terminal authorities said.
A couple of directing lights on the runway were harmed as the airplane swerved somewhat to one side of the runway in the wake of arriving at 8.30 am, they said.
The carrier said the occurrence happened when it was raining vigorously.
“SpiceJet worked flight SG 3251 from Chennai to Calicut. An ordinary arrival was completed in substantial downpours.
Amid landing run the air ship right wheel immediately went over the runway edge,” a SpiceJet representative said in an announcement.
SpiceJet included that the airplane proceeded with its typical navigate to the smock.
The aircraft sources said two of their flights from here to Chennai and Bengaluru were scratched off after the occurrence.
