Fire Force Director General Tomin J. Thachankary has been posted as Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), State Crime Records Bureau (SCRB) with additional charge of Managing Director of Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC).
Mr. Thachankary succeeds A. Hemachandran who has been posted as the Director General of Fire and Rescue Services by the Cabinet at its weekly meeting on Wednesday. N. Shankar Reddy, who was the ADGP, SCRB, has been given charge of the Police Modernisation.
Speaking to The Hindu, Mr. Thachankary said his aim would be to wipe out the loss of the KSRTC. “The experience of turning around the Kerala Book and Publishing Society (KBPS), Consumerfed and Marketfed and making them profitable under my tenure will be used in KSRTC,’’ he said.
Mr. Thachankary, who will take charge as MD, KSRTC next week, said he had started looking into the Sushil Khanna committee draft report that had proposed the turn around strategy for the KSRTC and the report prepared by former CMD M. G. Rajamanickam for getting a grip of the issues to be tackled and to fix priorities.
