When Malayalis in Bengaluru decided to to spend their puja holidays back home in Kerala, the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) couldn’t have been happier.
The Calicut depot of the state transport corporation alone had raked in a whopping Rs 14,71,200 during the last few days. The depot which aimed to collect at least Rs 13,53,060 managed to bring in an extra impressive amount of Rs 1,18,140.
Calicut holds the first position in generating income in the Kozhikode zone which includes Kasaragod, Kannur, Calicut and Wayanad. The KSRTC had arranged 10 extra services during the holiday season.
The drivers and conductors too deserve cheers as they did overtime to register a record income.
